Book Week at Regent College

Book Week is always a highlight on the Regent College calendar!

The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week theme for this year was ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’.
To celebrate this year, all staff and students dressed enjoyed a dress-up day in which they dressed up as their favourite book character for the day.

The Year 1 – Year 6 students also enjoyed a Book Fair in which over 60 students sold second-hand books and bookmarks.

More about the Book Fair

Over 60 students in Year 3 – 6 participated in running their own bookstall and sold second-hand books and homemade bookmarks to students in Year 1 – 6. Students were responsible for sourcing their own secondhand books from home, designing and setting up their own storefront, setting prices for the books, and selling them on the day.

After the Book Fair, students were invited to donate their leftover books to Afghanistani children who recently arrived in Perth. The students were incredibly generous and donated all of their remaining books.

Thank you to all the Families who lent to College tables and helped at the Book Fair!
