Italian Day at Regent College

On Friday 3rd December 2022, Regent College held “Italian Day”.

The Year 3-6 students started the day with a short assembly. The assembly started with students singing a worship song in Italian. Following this, students enjoyed a very special aria (solo opera performance) by Terence in Year 5 who learnt and sang an entire song in Italian. The assembly ended with a parade of wonderful Italian-inspired costumes. Costumes included Ancient Romans, Italian chefs, soccer players, pizzas, and even an Italian restaurant table!

Following the assembly, students in Year 3-6 split into smaller groups and participated in a range of different activities including:

“You’ve Got Food on Your Face”
Creating portraits made of fruit and vegetables, like the famous Italian artist, Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

Emperor for the Day
Completing relays and ‘chariot races’ while dressed up as Romans.

Pisa Productions
Creating 3D models using various materials such as pop sticks, foam, pegs and cups.

‘Ristorante Regent’
Cooking pizza with Chef Sean Marco, the Executive Chef from Crown Towers Perth.

During the day, Year 3-6 students saw a Ferarri and a Maserati in the car park. Both cars were in immaculate condition and looked like they would be very fun to drive through Kiss and Drive!

One of the many Italian Day highlights was the gelato and sorbet. Students in Kindergarten – Year 6 enjoyed a cold scoop, with many wishing they could have another one….or three.

A special thank you to Prof Russo who organised the day, and everyone involved. Grazie!
